Capoeira Video: Iuna

Capoeira Iuna is a toque created by Mestre Bimba. The rhythm signals a medium paced game typically played only by advanced students and mestre. Iuna is characterized by an emphasis on florieo and beautiful movement around the roda, with little to no contact/fighting.

I find this to be one of the most beautiful forms of capoeira.

Nice. I was really surprised to see how gracefully the heavier guy moved. He made it look effortless.

It’s amazing what some big guys can do in capoeira. It makes me jealous, because some of them bigger than me can flip and move better than I can, haha.

Oh this is funny, that video is from a late Event of our group, Brasil Capoeira (Mestre Matias) in Association with Grupo Gerais (Mestre Paulao). It is from the Eastern Meeting we hold each Year here in Switzerland. So if any of you guys want to see the real big guys we have here in Switzerland join us next Eastern.

it’s an odd game, the seem to speed up when they want and no lyrics, sounds and looks really odd, but cool.
